That’s right I said it! I have a love-hate relationship with the service industry — Yes, the industry that pays my bills and puts food on the table, and I have a very volatile relationship.
Why? You ask… Now that’s a story I can’t wait to tell…
So let’s get right to it, shall we?
Letβs start with the positives the things I love
π Making my own schedule
π The freedom to work from my couch, like I am right now
π The ability to work from anywhere with a wi- fi connection
π The incredible business from all over the globe I get to work with
π The amazing friends and colleagues I meet along the way
π All the learning experiences and perspectives I gain on the regular
Come to think of it there is so much more I love than I hate.
And hate really is a strong word, but there are some things that are not favourites of mine.
I donβt want to drag it out so here it is my not so favourites,
π Feeling like Iβm always on – my fault as I am still learning to set boundaries
π Feeling undervalued, and I do this to myself too – by not charging enough
π I take every failure or less than desirable result of your business like it’s my own
π A vacation is never truly a vacation – I feel like I always have to check-in at least on rain days (shhh… don’t say that out loud, it’ll rain every day π trust me it has)
π I can never remember my amazing dreams about my work — I SOO WISH I COULD, there have been some amazing pieces of content I’ve dreamt up
But with all that I still wouldn’t trade it for the world, because of the happiness, I see when a post clicks or a launch is successful or that one comment or reply that makes your day – that makes it all worth it!
I love seeing messages and sales come in, email opens, and all the things, hearing someone found you from your post – that’s why I do what I do and it’s all worth it!
Yes, it’s a love – hate but mostly a labour of love.
